Best story from behind the wood | I feel like so many of the good ones are NSFW for a variety of reasons and can only be shared amongst friends, or definitely didn’t seem fun at the time and turn into a good “war story” later on… I suppose that outside of that, I may be quite boring. I did a shot at TIFF once with Bokeem Woodbine, AKA Massive Genius from Sopranos, a program of which I am an inordinately large fan. Went kind of like this:
W: “Hey! Massive Genius!”
BW: “Yeah man!”
W: “Great to have you at the bar, big fan.”
BW: “Thanks man, much respect, much respect.”
W: “We’re doing a shot.”
BW: “Oh wow man, thanks! That’s great. What do we got?”
W: “This is Fernet. It is generally the only shot I will take. You’ll love it.”
BW: “Never heard of it, but ok!” *Smells said shot*
BW: “F#*k man, this smells like Jägermeister or something! I can’t do Jägermeister. Oh man. Give me something else… Vodka? You have Vodka?”
His friends and I had our Fernet, he had a nice chilled Vodka shot. Had a nice conversation. That’s all I got.
