An Introduction to Mezcal at El Rey – Sunday, February 26th, 2:30-4:30pm
El Rey, Bartender Atlas and Los Siete Misterios are coming together to offer a mezcal education seminar! If you have ever been interested in experiencing this fine agave distillate or always wondered about the difference between mezcal and tequila, we have designed an afternoon course intended to wet the whistle and engage the mind. Along with tasting some very special and relatively rare products, we will explore the regions and varieties of agave used to create great mezcal, the historical relevance of mezcal in Mexico and some of the basic terminology associated with Maguey. At this seminar, snacks and a welcome cocktail will be provided and you will sample five different mezcals – ranging from those available at the LCBO to those exclusive to El Rey. Aspiring to impact the industry in a positive manner is more popular than ever, what steps should you take to do more good than harm. Observation on a personal level is the most important tool.
