Cocktail: Seersucker | Bartender: Alex Jump

After reading Punch’s recent article on creative cocktail rims, I was inspired to make a cocktail that is a play on a Salty Dog. This is what I came up with!

Cocktail: Seersucker

Cocktail:
2 oz Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka
.5 oz Fennel Frond infused Velvet Falernum
1 oz Grapefruit Juice
.5 oz Lime Juice
.5 oz simple syrup
Soda Water
Sparkling Wine

For Rim:
Kosher Salt
Grapefruit Zest
Minced Bronze Fennel

Method:
Rim a collins glass with the combination above & fill with ice. In a shaker combine all ingredients except the soda & sparkling & top with ice. Shake well & fine strain into the rimmed glass. Top with equal parts soda & sparkling wine. Garnish with a grapefruit peel & a piece of fennel frond.

For the infusion:
Combine 750 ml of John. D Taylor’s Velvet Falernum with 1 cup of fennel. Leave in a cool, dry place. Strain after 3 days.
