Cocktail: The Commodore | Bartender Hugh Leech

My inspiration for this cocktail was my father, who spent his life in the Navy, both United Kingdom and Australian. He spent time serving in Gibraltar, and also near the Italian border, which inspired the use of sherry and maraschino and Cynar, as well as all over the world, from Canada to West Africa and all over Australia.

Cocktail: The Commodore | Bartender Atlas

45ml Lot 40 Rye
20ml Cynar
10ml Fino Sherry
5ml Maraschino
Dash of saline solution
Dash Bittered Sling Clingstone Peach
Lemon Twist garnish

Method: build in mixing glass and stir down. Strain into cocktail glass or coupette. Garnish with a lemon twist.
