24 Hour Bar

In May 2021, Bartender Atlas turned five years old and we wanted to celebrate in a way that included Bartender Atlas bartenders from around the world. This was a time when the pandemic was hitting different countries in various ways with a lot of places in lockdown or with limited ability to work. We came up with the idea to run a virtual bar for 24 hours straight on Twitch. The idea is that bartenders from different cities around the world would have a 1 hour “bar shift” where they would make a featured cocktails and then use the rest of the time to engage with viewers and do whatever else they wanted. Corby Wine & Spirits immediately jumped on board to be a sponsor and each participating bartender was paid for their time. 24 Hour Bar included 24 bartenders from 12 countries, 11 time zones and 6 continents. Each shift ended with a bartender passing on the screen to the next bartender tuning in from another country which made for a lot of fun.

Bartender Atlas tasks for 24 Hour Bar included:

  • Acquiring 24 bartenders from Bartender Atlas to participate
  • Organising the schedule for all bartenders to work within the 11 time zones
  • Collected featured cocktail recipes from participating bartender. Recreated them and photographed them
  • Promoted the event on social streams to get viewers for the event.
  • Created additional assets, such as a 24 Hour Bingo graphic, for viewers to download and post on their Instagram
  • Tech support behind the scenes during broadcast to ensure a smooth program
