Favourite bar in the world | Don’t have one. The one’s that are near and dear to my heart are because of the people who are usually accompanying me or because of the staff itself.
Best known for | Having a wonderful night with the people you care about regardless of the type of bar or bar program.
Best story from behind the wood | Nigh’s start blending together but I do specifically remember this one incident. In Louisville you will find painted fiberglass horse statues throughout the city some have been purchased at auction and others are on display until they are auctioned off. We had a statue that was to be auctioned off in front of our bar (keep in mind that they retail for around 20,000). Well you can imagine having a full size horse statue in front that we were always having to ask people (usually younger people) to get off the horse. Well one night as a table of business people leave a woman who had to be in her late 50’s early 60’s hops right up there and starts riding the horse while everyone else is taking pictures. I was floored that I had to ask a person older than my parents to “get off the $20,000 horse” especially since there were two signs attached that said “Do not touch the artwork”.
What do you collect? Bourbon
Favourite thing about your city? Bartending in Louisville isn’t a competition. Everyone knows each other in some capacity. Consumers are sent from one bar to another at the recommendations of their bartender. It’s a wonderful little big city.
