Red or White? Vermouth? Italian red for most classics, otherwise white (sweet white). Wine? whatever the mood or food calls for. Usually white.
Cointreau or Grand Marnier? Cointreau 90% of the time. Grand Marnier for dessert (and dessert drinks).
