Best known for | Taking on more projects than I can reasonably handle and somehow managing to complete most of them.
Best story from behind the wood | This isn’t super interesting or funny, but more of a feel good, people-are-genuinely-good sort of thing. I’m alone in my bar most of the time, as the kitchen and main dining rooms are on different floors of the restaurant. I’m usually connected via walkie talkie, but this night they had needed it for a private party on the top floor. I had this customer who was made me feel very uncomfortable by making inappropriate propositions, and I wasn’t sure I felt comfortable leaving the bar unattended while I went for help. One of the parties I was helping noticed my situation, and two of them kept an eye on things while I went to go get my manager. They’re now some of my favourite regulars.
What do you collect? Photographs of things people have left behind, usually in nature, sometimes in urban settings.
Favourite thing about your city? It has this small town feeling, despite being 750 000 people. Everyone knows everyone; maximum 3 degrees of separation.
What was the last photo that you took? A child’s car seat abandoned in a forest which is adjacent to a cemetery.
Where was your last vacation? Paris, London, and Amsterdam
Any claims to fame? I did a stint as the 204 Vodka signature bartender.. and I’ve been bartending since before I was legal to drink (My parent’s approved – as long as it was for them).
