Cocktail: Le Gainsbarre | Bartender: Markus Bosel

This drink is inspired by one of the most talented artists: Serge Gainsbourg. Gainsbourg was a major influence on French pop music but also on cinema and literature. He wrote the scripts and the film score for more than forty films. He often made provocative public appearances and cultivated the image of an artistic genius. Gainsbourg was a class act with a passion for bar culture and fine cocktails. This year marks the 30th anniversary of his death, hence my tribute drink.

6cl (2 oz) Cognac (Frapin)
2cl (0.75 oz) Red wine verjus
1,5cl (0.5 oz) Hedonist Ginger and Cognac liqueur
1,5cl (0.5 oz) Napoleon Mandarin liqueur
5 Dashes Absinthe Blanche

Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin with ice, the “throw” the drink into another shaker tin with no ice. Then carefully return the contents to the shaker with ice. Repeat 7-8 times. Strain into stemmed glass. Garnish with a lemon zest and a spritz of ginger tincture.
