This is a refreshing highball style inspired by The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve’s delicious tropical notes and a slower, more indulgent way of drinking summertime drinks. I always love a highball in any season, but in the summer when I tend to have somewhat long and dare I say lazy sessions in the sun with time that feels eternal I really appreciate a lighter, fizzier, way of drinking. It was a no brainer to use beautiful tropical flavours that usually pop with rum, but with The Glenlivet you get the best of both worlds with a single malt and a rum cask finish. The name comes from the contrasting idea of using a spirit made in a colder climate like Scotland in a tropical style drink so truly it can be enjoyed anywhere. HEH! TOTAL YUM RUM RUM!!
1.5oz The Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve
0.5oz amontillado sherry
0.25oz banana liqueur
0.5oz cane syrup
0.75oz Lime Juice
1 tsp velvet falernum
Combine ingredients in a shaker and whip shake. Top with soda. Strain into highball glass filled with ice. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
