Cocktail: Don’t Rock the Jukebox | Bartender: Joe Nicol

I just love 90s country music and dropped a whole cocktail menu named after some of my favorite tunes.

Cocktail: Don’t Rock the Jukebox | Bartender Atlas

2 oz Brown Butter Fat-washed Old Grand Dad Bonded Whiskey*
1/4 oz Vanilla Syrup**
Barspoon Giffard Creme de Peche
5 dashes angostura

Combine all ingredients in mixing glass. Fill with ice and stir for about 30 seconds. Strain into rocks glass and add ice. Garnish with orange zest.

*1 lb of butter per bottle being fat washed. Reduce on the stove until it’s clarified then take it a little further til it’s semi burnt. It will have a golden complex and you’ll start to see the bottom of the pan char up. Let cool.
Merry with bourbon and place in fridge. Strain through cheese cloth 24 hrs later.

**Vanilla syrup
1 vanilla bean sliced down the middle and scraped per every 20oz of water. Let simmer for 20min.
Should have about 18-19oz left after simmer. Add equal parts sugar. Let cool and store.

Joe Nicol
One time I was trapped in a skyscraper for the holidays. Little did I know Russians had taken hostages on the 30th floor. Through my rigorous training as an NY police officer I was able to dismantle the situation and save Christmas. Yippee Ki Yay.
