Cocktail: End of the World Delight | Bartender: Tom Scully

Inspired by Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut – Chapter 12 – a bartender at the Cape Cod Room made a drink the day the A-Bomb was dropped for a homeless man who believed it was the end of the world. The drink was written as the following: ‘I gave him about a half-pint of creme de menthe in a hollowed-out pineapple, with whipped cream and a cherry on top’.

Cocktail: End of the World Delight | Bartender Atlas

30 ml vodka (Absolut used)
22 ml Luxardo Maraschino Cherry Liqueur
22 ml fresh pineapple juice
7 ml McGuinness Peppermint Schnapps (used for Christmas, Creme de Menthe optional – but same portion)
30 ml whipping cream (35%)

Shake with ice to dilute, chill and froth, shake dry again to froth further. Double strain into chilled coupe. Garnish with an Amarena cherry.
