Cocktail: Kiwi Chi | Bartender: Tkeyah Joseph
When I was a little girl, I remember there was one flavor from the Starburst packet that had a kiwi flavor. And I always wanted to create a cocktail based off of it since the day I fell I love with the flavor.
1 oz of Banana Cream Blue Bay Rum
0.75 oz of Bacardi White Rum
1 oz of “Real” Kiwi purée
0.5 oz of Pineapple Juice
0.5 oz of Simple Syrup
Build all ingredients into mixing tin, add ice , shake vigorously for about 15 seconds, dirty dump into rocks glass and top with more ice. Garnish with Pineapple wedge on the corner of the glass and a floating kiwi slice on top.
I’m a 28 year old bubbly southern belle from Alabama, who loves the hospitality industry. But I fell in love with the art of mixology and bartending itself. I’ve been blessed to have the opportunity to create a cocktail menu for an upcoming bar downtown while starting my own private bartending business. I’m learning to push myself more and never limit myself to playing it safe with my recipes and always being open to the opinions of others. It has only have made more for improvement and giving me more confidence. I hope I get the opportunity to see my fellow bartenders beautiful art work and have some possible collaborations.
