And we want to have you listed here. Be a part of the Bartender Atlas community.

Our idea is to bring together bartenders from all over the world so that when you travel you will have a pal everywhere.

This website is for you to share what you are up to, where you are working and what cocktails you have recently created. The more bartenders we have here, the more fun we can have.

Throughout the year, we host events all around the world. And in between those times, we are busy creating original content geared towards you. We love interviewing people of the community and sharing their stories.

Are you a lover of cocktails? So are we!

Because really, what is there not to love? Perhaps you are looking for a cocktail recipe to try to make at home on your own. Or perhaps you are planning a trip to some far off city and you are wondering what bars to visit while there.

But why we really want you here is to discover a new bartender or two. Whether they be in your own city or in one you are traveling to. Why? Because bartenders are great ambassadors to their city.

They are privy to all kinds of information that you will not see in any silly travel guide. These people know things.

So go on, take a gander, read their profiles. Maybe they like antique hunting  just like you which makes you a natural fit to cozy up on a stool at their bar and learn a thing or two (while drinking a delicious cocktail or two).

Favourite Part of the Job | Garnishing. Before the pandemic, I was a graphic designer for a couple years. Now being a bartender for a couple years, I am able to bring in “design” and beautify my guests’ drinks through garnishing.

Favourite “at work” memory | I once worked at a restaurant where the sitting capacity was 150. I worked a shift with 2 of my favourite people on Saturday morning. Neither of us knew there were 5 events happening in the city. We were completely understaffed with no host and no manager with a massive lineup to get into the restaurant. Through the stress and busyness, we were somehow laughing the entire shift and somehow made it through without a single complaint. It was probably my worst memory and also my favourite.

What’s your favourite movie? Just Go With It
Favourite thing about your city? Hamilton is pretty known for being an artsy city. Every second Friday of the month, the whole city gathers downtown and supports small business, local artisans, local musicians. Community is HUGE and there’s always something going on to support the city itself.

Cocktail: Local Buzz | Bartender: Monique Godinho & Blaise Couturier

This cocktail was created for the Semi-Finals of the Takes Two to Altos team cocktail competition. The theme for this leg of the competition was “show us your city”.

When we designed this cocktail we came to the conclusion that nothing said Toronto like a spirit forward (Martini-style) cocktail. We wanted to use seasonally forged ingredients, distillates made in our city, and of course sherry.

45ml Altos Blanco Tequila
22.5ml Ramp Aperitif*
3 Drops Saline

Lemon oil & Mezcal Rinse
Stirred and served up in a Nick & Nora
Garnished with a sweet pickled ramp bulb

*Ramp Apéritif:
405g Spirit of York Akvavit (infused with ramp leaves)**
475g Fino Sherry
120g Local Honey
22.5g Lactic Acid
This aperitif was stored in a beeswax lined bottled which brought an added softness to the final product.

**Ramp Infused Akvavit:
200g Akvavit
20g washed and trimmed ramp leaves

Add both ingredients into a vac seal bag. Let stand for 2 hours and filter.

Favourite “at work” memory | My first shift as a bartender in Canada was at a banquet hall which is on the lake Ontario. It was book launch of a Pakistani-Canadian writer about her life as victim of domestic abuse. Her speech was so inspiring, about how to stand up for yourself and say no when you feel the need to say.
