Bartender Atlas: Where were you born?
Shay Waterworth: Born in the Isle of Man.
BA: What city do you work out of now?
SW: I actually work out of Douglas in the Isle of Man still so I work remotely.
BA: What’s your job title and how would you describe your role in the hospitality industry?
SW: I’m editor of Drinks International. We cover the global drinks trade and bar trade, specifically covering trends and news stories.
BA: Where do you go out to eat and drink on your days off, when you’re not doing eat and drink related work?
SW: I tend to go for a really simple classic margarita pizza and a cold crisp martini.

BA: What do you do outside of food and drink stuff on your days off? What else goes on?
SW: I play rugby so that’s probably my big hobby.
BA: Really? What position do you play?
SW: Center.
BA: Who’s your favourite fictional bartender?
SW: Actually, the Dead Rabbit, the big animation of the Dead Rabbit, he was a cool guy.
BA: What’s one album that you think everybody should listen to? Could be in a bar or not.
SW: Lincoln Park Hybrid Theory. It was my first album.
BA: What’s the best advice you’ve ever gotten?
SW: Always listen before you speak.
BA: What’s something that you’re excited about, what’s coming up.
SW: The Rugby World Cup next year.
