It is best not to confuse age for wisdom. We all know a bartender that has been behind the same bar for just a bit too long. While it might be great for the regulars, after a while, it is important to experience new things and stay open to what else is out there. This month for Independent Study Day, we have invited Daniel Tavares of Bar Mordecai and Nice Ice to tell us all about working at one of Canada’s Best Bars and how he got there. We have known him for a while and his trip has had some divulging paths… including a stint at Eau de Vie in Melbourne, Australia and some time making cider. This talk is all about being versatile as a bartender and filling in your gaps of knowledge.
