Made this drink after asking my favourite question “what happens if you add sherry to ___”. The answer on this one did not disappoint! I substituted amontillado sherry for sweet vermouth in a boulevardier. The result is an amazing, bitter cocktail with nutty complexity add from the sherry. The name translates loosely to a leisurely evening walk. The name for this was inspired by a song with the same name from the musical “The Light in the Piazza”. Further homage is paid to the musical with the use of Campari and Bourbon signifying the American-Italian love story of which the musical is about.
1 oz. Bourbon (or Corn mash whiskey)
1 oz. Amontillado Sherry
1 oz. Campari
Add all ingredients into a mixing glass. Add ice and stir. Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora glass. Express oils from an orange coin over the drink then add or discard the coin.
