Megs moved to Mexico over four years ago to live out her dreams of regularly visiting agave producers. You can find her focusing on agave & sotol education at her agave tasting room, Salon de Agave; at CATA Agave Bar and tasting room on the beach in Tamarindo, Costa Rica or at Coco’s Cocktail & Agave Bar in her Canadian home city of Edmonton, Alberta.

Bartender Atlas: Where were you born?
Megs Miller: Edmonton, Alberta
BA: What city do you work in?
MM: México City
BA: Where do you go out to eat and drink on your days off?
MM: Days are are split between being a complete homebody and cooking up something healthy & veggie based. Or heading out for most likely tacos & agave somewhere with friends.
BA: What do you do outside of work on your days off?
MM: I love my morning routines (which I try to do also on work days when I’m not traveling). First thing I do in the mornings is go to the gym and then maybe my local mercado (food market) and walk home with my buys with a coffee in hand, always with headphones on searching for my next fav album or track. Catching up with friends around the city and making plans for the next agave adventure/trip.
BA: What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
MM: “Do you want to look back in 50 years and say you did it or didn’t?” – my Dad
“I don’t where I’m going, cause I’ve never been” – Harlem River, Kevin Morby lyrics
“Don’t waste 5 minutes on something that won’t matter in 5 years.” – Unknown
BA: What’s something you’re excited about?
MM: Everything agave & music. I am very lucky to have made my dream job my reality and am thankful always for what I get to do. And music makes everything in life better.
