Favourite Part of the Job | My favorite part of the day is meeting guests where they’re at, whether they need a pick me up, a listener, an entertainer, a hype man, or to be seen. If we do it properly, our occupation can be a safe space for shared human connection.

Favourite “at work” memory | My bar mate Renee and I were wiping down bottles closing up. She was having a tough day. You see, we closed up shop on our own, downtown in Baltimore, and we waited on some ‘high end’ guests, and some of them would feel a little too entitled oftentimes. After a few drinks and trips to other bars around the neighborhood, one of them in particular, had a very unhealthy obsession with Renee. On this night he had walked by the locked front glass doors a few times, big stalker vibes. I could see her discomfort growing. He disappeared then called the restaurant, I answered, he tried confessing his love to Renee through the phone, I told him firmly to back off and that I was going to report his behavior. He took the hint and left. Renee was relieved, and the song ‘Everywhere’ by Fleetwood Mac began to play, she was pretty shaken up, and as the chimes rang in, I cranked it up. When the first ‘ohhhhahhh’ hit, very unexpectedly I skipped from one end of the bar and rushed towards her with jazz hands to shake her out of the funk she was feeling. She immediately dropped to the floor laughing so hard she almost peed herself. Predators suck, but making her laugh in that moment is something that will stick with me forever.

Favourite drinking song | Sober Girlie here but I used to love when Lil Jon was calling out all of them shots by name in ‘SHOTS’ by LMFAO feat Lil Jon
What was the last photo that you took? A blurry photo of the NA wine offering on Bar Chenin’s menu because I loved it so much. But I ended up having to type it into my phone bc the picture was so blurry.
What is your dream travel destination and why? I really want to experience a super SPA oriented trip. My body needs some R&R. I feel like Thailand or Swizerland would be great options for that.
